You can make something usable for about 10% of the price of that...

The pelican box is about $24 and the battery another $30 depending on what you get. I used a Hobie Thru-hull Kit to get my power cable through which was another $17 (way overpriced in my opinion).

Outdoor Products Watertight Box, Small, Dress Blues https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007JQJE5U/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_P10sxb1082HZN

You can also find this water tight box (large size) at Wal-Mart. A good alternative to the tupperware box or hobie bucket

I have one of the kits and its about 5 years old. I could not remember were I got it originally
All I needed was a new 2 pin connector due to screws corroded and needed to reset wire in plug.

I bought a dry box from Walmart, used a 10ah battery, and made my own using a few parts from West Marine.  I'll post up pictures later.  Just make your own.

Many battery chargers use a SAE two pin connector, which is a connector which is designed to resist exposure to the elements.

I have made a battery box which connects either to my fish finder or to a recharger with a SAE two pin panel mounted connector.  I purchased the battery box at Walmart; it's inexpensive but good.

Here is what the SAE two pin panel mounted connector looks like.  I bought this connector for $5.00 from John Drake Services, Inc. (www.solarseller.com); see http://www.solarseller.com/low_voltage_dc_pumps__lvm__teel__accessories__plugs_and_extensions.htm .   However, I prefer panel mounted connectors on which both leads are black, because on this connector the red and black leads are the reverse of what you need to connect to a battery charger, so I needed to connect the positive terminal of my battery to the black wire on the connector.  This isn't obvious unless your charger has red and black or red and white wires.

I prefer the panel mounted connector to running the wires from a standard two pin connector through a hole in the wall of a battery box and sealing the hole with Aquaseal, Marine Goop, or some other kind of sealant, because the panel mount connector provides a more secure waterproof connection.
