So...

Recently my iPhone stopped letting me post pics to DOTY... :smt010

I get an error message that says pics must be a JPG.

I've never had this problem before, and have checked with bsteves and we think it is an iPhone thing rather than a DOTY software thing.

I played in the settings to see if I could find out if pics were being saved in some other format but I couldn't find anything...

I know at least one other DOTY player that has an iPhone and is having the same problem...

Any of you guys have any ideas???

Thanks in advance!!

 :smt006

Sincerely,

Jim

Curious if you connected phone to your computer to look at the list of pictures to see if .jpg is at the end of each picture.

If .jpg no longer is attached to your pictures, you can drag'n'drop to your computer and rename the files with the proper extension.

I think the forum's picture whizbanger turns your uploads into jpg files. So click on your screenshot above then save image. Try uploading that image (as a test) to DOTY. Might aslo work if you upload them to photobucket then download the image...maybe it'll save as jpg then upload to DOTY. Thounds thuper thimple...haha, sorry, its friday!

I had a similar problem. My phone was taking BIG pics and the forum doesn't like them. Try reducing the size of you pictures.

Try smacking the top of it.  Worked with my old TV when the picture didn't show up either.  :smt044

Hey bud! Have you checked to see if your phone is taking JPG or PNG files?? When I got my iPhone 6 Plus it took PNG files and not JPG files... could be that issue?? Or if not that, then possibly having the too big of file issue? I know if you access your settings you can also turn your HDR off, which can cause issues too due to the fact the file holds a couple different photos itself.

Good luck, I hate having phone issues but I'm pretty nerdy when it comes to iPhones... id say its the PNG or the too large of file issue... let us know if you find out whats going on!

Is it just DOTY uploads or the regular forum as well?

Thanks fellas...

So, I can post on the forum fine from my phone.

DOTY gives me the error.

Confirmed today that I get the same error on AOTY (see attached pic).

I can email the pics to my PC and download them and then post them to DOTY, but I know another DOTY player that only has a phone and no PC so obviously he can't do that.

I tried to find a setting in the iPhone that would change the setting to JPG vs something else but so far no luck....

Have not plugged phone into computer to see what format if says pics are...

Tried that just now...no luck.

How/where do I check to see if taking JPG or PNG?

I turned the HDR off and that didn't work either...

I can't be the only one using an iPhone to upload pics to DOTY and AOTY...
