Just recently got back from my vacation i the PI and brought back more tradition wooden handline reels!

Several have inquired about having a strictly "handline" fishing tourney (MBF style) to see who can catch the biggest fin creature in the water.

We are looking at San Leandro Marina area to launch and will be targeting whatever is in the water; sturgies, sharks, rays, stripers, etc....

You can either used your own handline reel or you can buy one of the ones I just brought back; quantities are very limited..

$10 MBF + $15 for the handreel (you gotta bring your own line  :smt003)

I only have limited number of 9" Wooden Hand Reels (Qty: 22) and it will be on a "first pay, first get" system; if you want it, Paypal me at GlenArmas@gmail.com and I will reserve one for you. Even if you don't make it, the hand reel will still be yours and the MBF money will still go into the Pot. Open to all non-motorized vessels; including AI, kayaks, Canoes and SUPs.

Anyone interested?

There are a few of us who play with handlining throughout the year; most the day before tournys for kicks... I wanted later in the season to not bunch up with other events and because thats when the transient stripers should be returning from the ocean....

For those of you who have already paid and want to pick (or NCKA Express) you hand reel, let me know; I "should" be able to make it to BerrySlam and will bring them there or get them connected...

Thanks again everyone for your interest; I have contact my dad (who is still over there) to see if I can get more when he returns next month. Will keep you informed....

You would use the same rig setup as you would on a tradition rod/reel; just will take a little more practice to hook & land a decent size ling...

Same goes for butt fishing; carolina rig with a popsicle, chovie or shiner...

Next chance I would get to do handlining would probably be GSX; if I can make it...
