Thanks for organizing and getting all the hand reels.  You literally created this event from the ground up.  Maya and I had a lot of fun.

Thanks for all the food as well.  Maya got hungry early and since she had a soccer game later in the afternoon, we decided to get some food in Oakland Chinatown.  I wish I'd held off on eating at the restaurant because I wanted to eat more of that great food at the chill.

I did feel really stiff from not sitting in a kayak in a while.  I can't imagine how Chuck feels.   :smt003

I didn't fish but sailed the revo around for a bit - it was a beautiful day!
Nice to meet some other members and hang with the legends!
Pot-luck was the usual, great buffet and plenty!

a vid of the mellow sail and a bonus arw parking lot clip at the end  :smt044

had everything loaded from the day before from linda mar, woke up late. arrived at 830 to quickly launch.  beautiful lake conditions.  rigged up my reel and headed along the wall to the deep trench. after a few hours, hooked and landed a 26" sand shark.  then paddled to the 2nd wall and drifted further north.  hooked on to something huge that ended biting through my 30lb mono line between stinger hook.  re rigged to drift back south as the wind blew.  felt something on the line, pulled it up and as i had a glimpse of it it took a dive and off it came.  line snapped and it looked like it got bit through again. could clearly see it was a halibut, for sure keeper size, but too bad it got away boatside.  was so mad.

the chill part was awesome, great ncka food and story swapping as usual.  thanks glen for making this happen. i will definately attend this type of event again.

We had an awesome time it was cool to meet a lot of new people and put some names to faces.
This was my first time to the Rockwall and conditions were great. General breeze tiny swell/chop and the overcast that is from the valley side go to the coast to enjoy. A really nice time and a fun way to fish. The hand reels glen picked up overseas are cool. I had a couple good bites but couldn't get anything to stick. Tyler caught a small angel shark
Thanks again to everyone for the good times and making us feel welcome. Nice to hang out for a bit afterwards before the drive home and congrats to Eric for the win.
Sweet pic, I think that is called a thornback guitarfish ray.  Great tail full of meat.  Similar to shovelnose.  Looks like a perfect day, keep em' comin'.  Well done G-whiz........ :smt006

Looks like you guys had a blast out there.  Wish I could've made it but my son had his very first soccer game, and I got to see him make 3 goals.  Looking forward to next year.

Thank you to Glen for organizing the event, supplying the hand reels and taking all the videos and photos.

Btw, Fahrenheit840 (Bob) provided the chicken skewers, they were awesome. I only provided the Brats and gas bbq grill  :smt003

Thanks to all who came for providing the food, fun and company.

Can't wait for the next one. Ariel said we should try April.
