I have been kayak fishing in Monterey Bay since 2009. I usually paddle out of Lover's Cove, catch some live bait after I clear the point, and then paddle to the reef off of the Lighthouse in search of Lings. I stopped and talked to Steve from Los Banos today and he asked me if I have a name on NorCal. I could not remember. I too often fish alone and should make more of an effort to connect. So, here I am. Every year I see more kayak fishers around. Fishing was good today. Brought two lings to the boat. Blues were chasing something on the surface and I caught four throwing a fishtrap. Looking forward to seeing you out there.
I realize it is a little ridiculous to post a fly fishing photo on a kayak fishing sight. I added my seabass moment. Certainly the highlight of my kayak fishing career.

I may have saw you fishing for those blues near Pinos yesterday. There were at least 5 flurries where fish would start breaking the surface like crazy. Right next to my kayak. I saw big marks underneath one school...was hoping for salmon! See ya out there.
