Decided to go out and do the annual Easter Coyote lake trip with a couple of  my buddies (Andrew and Brian) and their families.  Ended up deciding to bring the kayaks even though  we have to go through so much trouble to get those things launch on the water. After dealing with the park ranger who definitely didn't make our job any easier our boats were checked off and ready to go out in the water the next day . We got up at about 6 got all the gear ready and Got on the water by seven. After my very short paddle I found a nice submerged tree in about ten feet of water and started fishing off of it. The tree was just loaded with fish one after another it almost seemed fake  :smt005. By 7:30 I already landed 4 decent fish with the biggest to come. Next thing I know a lunker of a bass slammed my hug and the battle was on ! After seeing this thing jump out of the water two times I couldn't keep myself from almost peeing my pants  :smt044.  I started hootin and hollering at Brian to bring his net even though I didn't end up using it after the two minute battle with the pig. Finally landed it and was pretty  darn juiced for the rest of my day by far my biggest. I didn't have my hawg trough so I didn't measure it for aoty there was one in the truck but didn't want to risk the fish dieing so just decided to release her safely. After catching plenty of more fish decided to through one of our little buddies Cody who is nine on the back of my kayak and try to get him his first kayak fish. After about half an hour he sets the hammer on this bass and nearly falls out of the kayak from setting the hook so hard lol  thank god he was on the raptor Brian and Cody wouldve both been in the water and lands his first kayak fish. Last year poor cody fell in after making a cast on the jackson kayak and specifically requested to be on the raptor . :smt003   By far one of the coolest to  things ever he was so pumped and was trying to convince his dad to buy a kayak right after that , definitely hooked after that. The next day we saw some bug pigs and coyotes fighting with each other for awhile which was pretty neat to see.  Definitely have my calendar marked for next year !

Me and Beerhunter pulled the power boat over but didn't make the inspection because my anchor rope was wet. :smt009.. There tough there! Anyway super stoked to see my son handling business and getting others hooked into the madness! Proud daddy right here!

Kris, Thanks for sharing the adventure, great report and pics. Congrats on the fatty Bass, A lot of Respect for you releasing the fatty and not jeopardizing her just for a measurement. Very Cool getting Cody out for his first yak fish. AS for your Dad, Bummer  not being able to launch the PB  :smt012 , but he should quit playing with his rope and just keep it dry   :smt044
