Collect unclaimed money!

So I recently learned about how to claim unclaimed property that has been passed over to the state for safe keeping.  I thought I was always on top of things but I found out that I had overpaid on an old cell phone bill and a cancelled credit several years ago.  Just collected a little over 50 bucks!  Told LostAnchovy and he collected a whopping $4 to buy a new lure with.   

Some of you may already know about this but for those who don't, definitely check out the CA State Controller's website and see if you have any unclaimed money!

Yeah it's gonna be a hit and miss. I heard some people have a few thousand dollars held by the state. It's legit.

Yup, that site is legit; A while back I found $400 for my mother in law, among other things. Nothing for me though

I have collected several times over the past few years.  Amounts have varied from a few bucks to a few hundred.  Once it was money left in an escrow account following the sale of a house.  A friend looked it up and notified me several years later that he found it while looking up names of friends at the site.  A couple of times, the reason the money existed was never really found.  I make a habit of checking the site a couple of times a year.

Hey, did we talk about this last wknd? Because I was gonna post something similar hahaha! A coworker told me to checkout this site. I kinda thought it was fake. But still filled out the paperwork to claim my money. And surprisingly...I received a check for $78...Pacific Bell owed me from 1999.

Pat, I think we might have talked about it at the FnC.  I think I was asking others about it seeing if they've tried/heard of this site.   Nice job collecting that money from waaay back.
