Attached are the results. As for myself, I did horrible, I mean horrible. No score-able fish! Big fat goose egg.
I had the big bites needed, two broke my line, one huge 10# fish spit the hook at me right next to my boat... net, Mike, net for god sakes, why bring it if you're not going to use it!!! Several others just came off in the weeds, off docks and just came off. I caught maybe a half dozen fish around 11" and one decent striper. It was all me and it seems after ever fish I lost the more panic'd I became. As the last angler coming from the main river, It began to pour on me, it really rained. Completely soaked, mentally and physically exhausted, I just started laughing and thought, this is how it goes sometimes. I've been pretty successful regarding events over the last few years and went into this event somewhat confident I'd do well. I ended the day very HUMBLED to say the least. Congrats to all the winners and Matt (Ring King) for taking the NCKA side bet and 3rd place overall. Actually 3 of our NCKA took top 10, well done guys!

I'll be ready for the next one.  :smt003

Mike

Ricci and Tony you guys owe Matt $10.

So I pre-fished Thurs and Fri late. Few fish here, few there, all deep and no real pattern on Thurs but all the fish seemed deep and small bucks up close. Both days I noticed a large amount of bait in the docks. Thurs I really didn't pay attention but after a crappy prefish Thurs, Fri I decided to fish around the bait. The water was real dirty stain so I needed something with a rattle. I tried cranks and a couple jigs but I know I needed to match the hatch which I assume was shad or shiners. The cranks just wouldn't get down cause the ball was so close to the docks. Well luckily I had my striper stuff with me so I setup a drop shot rig with a white Branson mini slug w/glass 3 bearings rattle in the tail. I pulled 5 nice fish :smt003.  This was the biggest and the longest LMB I've ever caught. She was strong and I'm guessing close to 10#. Guess where I'll be fishing on Sunday :smt002.

I think I might enter it into AOTY, it would be the biggest LMB recorded. Stoked!

Mike

Dude that things a beast! Anf caught on your own swimbait! Awesome!!!!!!!!!!!

It was definitely a good time out there!  I had a blast and caught fish all day.  I landed 36 fish throughout the day and only lost one.  That was a big change from my prefishing that I did on Saturday.  Saturday I found a good senko bite but must have lost 15 fish for some reason.  I would set the hook, stick them, and a few seconds into the fight they'd just pull free.  A quick trip to Bass Pro that evening for some different style hooks and the problem was solved!

On tourney day I started off by cranking the rock walls anywhere there was wood cover.  Probably boated a dozen keepers in the first hour but nothing bigger than 15".  Finally made it out to Mildred and started alternating between the senko and a 3/8oz spinnerbait for the rest of the day.  It was good enough to get me an 18.5", 17", and 15.75" limit which took 3rd place.  If I could have found just one more decent fish I'd have given Ernie a run for his money!!

See y'all at the next one!

That's how it goes sometimes. I've done the same in the past. Awesome pre fish and flop tourney day. Wish I was free to fish tiki, but I'll be for sure at big break and maybe wimpys.

Right there with you Mike!  Lost a couple of nice fish in the morning. My only landed bass was 9"! Woohoo! I did pull a nice basketball out of the weeds, so it wasn't a total loss.

Was a great time on the water, had five bites for four fish and three that scored.  Three on Chatterbait, and one on drop shot. Great to see the turn out of anglers.

Congrats to all of the winners and top 10 NCKA'ers!  Glad none of you found me for the NCKA side bet retrospectively  :smt044

Super fun day on the water (minus my failure to produce an abundance or remember that the minimum fish was 12"and not 13"!)  Should have measured three fish but spazzole here didn't quite pay attention).  Regardless, another great Delta learning experience and looking forward to the next (though some of us will miss the May tourney due to GS).  See you at the FishNChill in April if all goes as planned  :smt006

Sure am digging the Old Town Predator on the Delta!  Paddled my arse off in that thing quite comfortably!  Although I didn't quite keep up with Matt!   :smt003

See you soon!

Thanks Mike for posting the scores I've spaced and totally forgot to do it. I'm glad everyone had a good time and with out all you anglers this wouldn't be possible. Right now the April event is being moved to the Lodi lake big bass throw down and looking to reschedule the fish n chill. We want to support Dan and give everyone the chance to fish in the free tournament and possibly add some new goodies to there yaks with the store credit Danson putting up. Justin Sr and I are putting a bait goodie bag together for first place as well from us and the club to thank Dan and the anglers for coming out and having a fun day at Lodi lake. My weekends are all booked in April so I will be working with Justin on when he wants to run the fish n chill and where at, there's been alot of interest in lakes lately so that may be on the plate. I'd love to see you minnow fisherman bring out your secret weapons and show the artificial guys why fishing love bait is so much fun at the fish n chill. Again thanks to all who made it out you guys are why we do this and I can't thank you enough for coming out and having a fun day with us - James
