Anybody gone yet or planning on going?

Was it worth the hassle of the traffic and city congestion?

Thanks,

I work a block from there and finally did a walk through an hour ago.  To answer your questions, NOOOOO!  Maybe the free concerts at night, but I didn't see anything today worth making a day out of.

I had some family go on sunday.....reports were "mildly disappointing," but my nephew thought the punt/pass/kick stuff was pretty cool......although he got burned in the 40 yard dash by a 14 year old girl.

Yeah I grew up and worked in the City and know that area well.
Wife wants to go so I read all the details of the event. Didn't see anything that popped out that would be worth driving up there from SJ.

She wants to take my boys ages 10 and 12........but I don't know.

Was that at the NFL experience at the Moscone Center or the Super Bowl experience on the Embarcadero?

lol, reading the comments about overwhelming security reminded me....my sisters friend just had surgery and her arm is in a sling.  When they entered the venue they all took off their purses to be searched.  An officer yelled at her for not removing the sling (which he mistook for a purse).  Reportedly, he still searched it.

My guess is it would be like walking the midway at a county fair but with a Super Bowl theme.
Too crowded, everything overpriced and it's in the Bay Area.
No thank you, no thank you and NO THANK YOU!

I went Saturday with the wife and it was meh. It was fun to watch 100 fully armed riot gear cops escorting 20 BLM protestors around the perimeter as if they were the plague.

If you had 1 or 2 young sports minded kids it would be worth a trip. They would dig the spectacle. The Bay Bridge lights and Ferry building are pretty at night. Lots of lines for the exhibits.....The stuff on the Embarcadero is free but the NFL experience is at Moscone and $35.

The NFL experience at Moscone is probably a better bet. You have to pay to get in but your chances of seeing old players, celebs, etc is much better.

Super Bowl City (Embarcadero) ain't anything to write home about.

BUT, when is the next time the Super Bowl will come back? It's been over 30 yearso since the last time it came (1985).

You can't compare the two. Niners were in that one and also won while hosting it.

That game just like this one wasn't played in SF. It was played at Stanford where the Niners crushed Marino and Miami.
