I prefer a TEC-9 on a sling over my pfd. I prefer the TEC-9 while kayak fishing because: 1.It's compact. 2.It's mostly rustproof plastic 3. It gives me the firepower I need should a doomsday scenario occur while I'm on the water.

Good call on the TEC-9.  I like to put my gat somewhere between my sagging pants and my boxers, but only when I'm kayaking.
