Is that galvanized chain, or chrome? If galvinized, I hope you were wearing a respirator! Welding galvanized metal can mess you up really bad! The fumes are cyanide gas and other highly toxic stuff. Bad juju.

How do you handle your fishing weights? Just sayin :smt044

That may be the least toxic thing in his body. I saw Andy pull a stick of margarine from under his van seat and eat it.

Bro... it was some friendly safety advise about something that most home welders aren't aware of.
You can make light of it, ignore it, and possibly get sick...
or be aware and take thirty seconds to put on some PPE.
Your life, your choice.

You should probably watch how you speak about people you know almost nothing about.

Ok... you're right. I don't know him personally, but I can tell some things about his welding skills!

He's using a Flux core welder with 0.025 or 0.030 wire. Probably one of the cheap ass POS's from Harbor Freight by the look of the ground clamp and gun.
He cuts corners and does NO prep work. He doesn't clean the rust off of the disks or grind the mill scale (that's the grey coating) off of the strap he is using to form the sides of his pans prior to welding. This causes poor penetration and inclusions( pin holes or slag pockets) in the weld. Slag is carcinogenic too, so I hope he's wire brushing the crap out of the welds before cooking in them
He doesn't seem to own a square or care much about finish or quality, because from the photos of his past "work" I can see that none of the pans have even, straight handles and some of the sides are angled in or flare out. (Simple things like clamps and taking a bit of extra time and care would help here.) So, he just puts his head down, and goes.
He was talking about flash burns, so either he doesn't have the proper lense in his hood, or ithe isn't set up correctly if autodarkening.
And then there's the whole galvanized chain thing...

And yet his fryers are iconic parts of countless NCKA hook-ups, PIFs, and tournaments and people are lined up in this very thread looking to acquire one.

What have you done for the NCKA community lately? Why don't you make a better one and see how Andy's will still outsell yours?
