Aaron - I'm trying to develop the event weekend into a family and friends gathering where quality is emphasized over quantity, but I do want all who share the vibe to be able to attend.  We'll see how the numbers stack up, and it may be based on how much I turn up the heat on promotion as the next several weeks unfold.  I'm getting the itch to start that fire...   

Doug - Additional order form is helpful and appreciated for my organizing scheme.  I wanna see you in the flat bill cap!

Regarding accomodations - it's a good idea to secure a room at an inn or finalize your vacation rental.  If you're staying in the campground it's not a bad idea to call and give your name, but my understanding is that you show up and pay your per person per night fee ($25?) and you're free to settle ground in the group area, including your parking and gear space.

March 16th, 2007 - Shelter Cove salmon flashback!   

My laptop got taken over by a Windows 10 upgrade this evening!

So I'm working on an old XP tower from like 10 years ago - my only source for Word!   

Anyway, there are lots of old Shelter Cove pics on here, so please enjoy.   

My Dad's been gone for more than 8 years now.  I miss him, but I also carry him with me always.

He had me salmon fishing as a kid outside of Humboldt Bay where I thought we were going to die in the swells!  He was also the first one to take me to Shelter Cove, and he and I shared some special times there like salmon fishing off of my kayaks in '06 when he got three fish in less than an hour.

My Dad taught me everything about salmon fishing, and I've really enjoyed showing those who've been my guests.  There's something about the hooking of an anchovy - something you never think about when you do it as you have been for many years (since childhood...).  When you start to break that down and show it to someone else, it becomes apparent that your fingers and hands know much more than your mouth, regarding how to do the hooking!

I think of my Dad and the things he taught me about salmon fishing and about life - very often.

I have been lagging on sending ours in, going in for surgery today, but will get it out next week when I can get around to it. Super stoked! Cody has been planning his fishing assault for months! We need good seas and some juniors out fishing this year!
