Has anyone fished there lately. May brave the storms on Thursday.  They plant Mt. lassen fatties there. Unfortunately its bank fishing or aluminum boat rentals. The best thing is on those days... boats half off. 35.00 bucks for the whole day !!!!. That definetly beats dragging one down there !!

Frick ! Now I gotta drag out all my trout trolling gear. Stripers there as well !   :smt007

Be careful and check the wind conditions before you head out.the place gets pretty rough when it's windy.2-3' waves.
My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

How did you do when you've gone out of there ? What did you fish for ? Anytime recently ?

Definitely gonna rain .
Wind shows 6-8 mph. Not sure if it whistles through the reservoir more than town ?

Fished LV back on Dec 23rd and only
manged 2 decent trout. Caught a bunch that were less than 10", all were throw backs.  Fished 3 different holes before I found some feeding fish. Bite didn't start till about 10am. I fish the north side so it's about a mile hike to the fishing holes. Everything on chartuese powerbait.

My Dad fishes there quite a bit. He's gotten a bunch of the lunker club mugs there. PM me if you are looking for info. I'll try to pass on any info I have. Tight lines!

Thanks for the reply sacyakattack. Definitely drop you a line. Sounds like your Pops has the place dialed in. Love to put my dad on some fish. He would be stoked to show his friends a lunker mug he won.  :smt001

Post a report if I go this week. Seems  more like next week if the weather doesn't cooperate. Whats a little rain ? Im not gonna melt. Its more like if I can get myself out of bed that early .  :smt003

Looking to head to Los Vaqueros tomorrow and be there little before 7 am . Anyone interested in chipping in for a boat rental. Never been there . But reports and videos are very tempting. 16 foot aluminum for 35 bucks all day. Targeting trout and then stripers.
Leaving from Salinas.

I don't know what your schedule allows for but there will be 3 of us at Shadow Cliffs on Saturday if you can swing it.  Myself, Snakecharmer, and a buddy who rarely posts.  It will be his maiden voyage on his Outback.

You know what gets me about LV reservoir it that all of you paid for it and so did I. And they should let it be that you all can take your own water craft out on it because you have ownership of it. Their rules are not legal and just like the rest of the reservoirs it should be open to private watercraft. I sure would like to find out who the heck wrote up this limited access and wonder what the bottom line is.

This!!!  And for this reason, they'll never see a dime from me.
