Save ling skins and cover your car! Pop hood and make it ling-like, weld on fins and make a tail!
Tail opens up to a fryer/fish taco stand!

Been a bit since I posted any updates.  Been highly MIA for a couple months now from just about everything in life, including this project.  Finally got back into the garage & on the welder for some much needed fabrication therapy.

Updated pics of the project.

420cc Gas Engine, Hydraulic Pump, Vibration isolated motor mount, front steering arms tacked in place, rear axles clamped in place awaiting hydraulic motor placement this coming weekend, seat & seat sliders in place.  Tons of work getting it to this stage.  Doesn't look like much yet but this is where my drawings end & free form fabrication begins.  Rack & Pinion steering setup goes in next week & all the other custom made goodies I have to fab up start falling in place.  Tonight I start knocking out a punch list of "to-do" items and deadlines.  Had to stretch the frame by an additional 10" more than I had wanted, or planned, during a shoot from the hip design & fab moment to gain a little more leg room.  REALLY wanted to keep it under 8' long but I blew past that a couple months ago.

In case you can't tell, it is 4-wheel drive  :smt002  its just that all 4 wheels are in the rear  :smt003  Tons & tons more work to go.  Hope to have it driveable w/o the body or trailer by the local Regional Santa Cruz Burning Man Event Mothers day weekend with full completion by early August.  Should have some insane pulling power for its size as so long as it can hold traction.  Almost every part is being custom fabricated by me at home so it takes a bit more time but well worth it I hope because the Playa is a brutal, brutal place for all things mechanical.

Enjoy!

Hi Bill

I'm Not a Burner and will not be attending Burning Man 2016, but I am a glassblower/sculptor and have been working this past month or so with my local Central Coast Sculptor's Group (CCSG) on a large sculptural Rhino (mummy). It is an attempt to examine the extinction of certain animals on the planet of endangered species such as the white Rhinoceros, which was more or less our model. There are only 3 living specimens left, and they live captive in Zoos.

Will it have pedal drive?    Is it a tandem?   Can you fish from it?  It looks very stable.      :smt044 :smt044 :smt044

Freaking cool project.   I love it !      Keep the photo's coming.

Awesome Bill! The rear will be 10x stronger if you put a riser in each corner and box it in. Not that it doesn't look crazy strong already. Can't wait to see what  you need dual axle hydraulic chain drive for!  Pulling something?? Stripper pole picnic table choochoo train?

Any reused or recycled parts going on there? Isn't that kindof the whole idea with Burning Man?

That thing looks badass though, I gotta say...
