You know you will actually have to get on a kayak and fish to find out? :smt044

Nah, it will go on his pontoon and he'll just dip his hand in the water.  :smt002  :smt008

That too....  Looks like the game plan is to get a TotalScan transducer for the Pontoon boat, remove the 83/200 & LSS-2 transducers.  Add a new Elite Ti to the assortment already on the pontoon which consists of a few HDS Gen3 units.  Already looking into a larger pontoon boat for more electronics space.

The new yak will sport an Elite Ti too if there's room for the TotalScan transducer.  I have a request in with the engineering team at Lowrance for actual, final product, dimensional specs.  Once I receive the ok, I'll pass those along to the group.  The specs I have found (public) vs. the picture I have seen (public) don't appear to match up so a call went out to engineering to verify.

I know of a boat that you can do some testing on!

I'm curious... How well does the Lowrance touch screen respond to wet fingers? Trying to use my iPhone on the water is super frustrating sometimes, especially in sloppy conditions when drying off your fingers is a futile effort.

Looks like the new TotalScan Transducer will be too big for any current kayak installation (unit ready models)  :smt012  Going to give it a try on the 2015 WS Thresher 155 just to make sure  :smt002

Found this for dimensions.  Seems right but can't verify 100% till I have one on my desk.

Update:
The Lowrance site has it a 10.2"L x 2.3" wide so there may be some discrepancy in the actual dimensions since that image I clipped, though it came from the TotalScan Manual, may be the dimensions of the older LSS-2 transducer that paved the way for this one.  I'll continue to update as info comes across my desk.
Looks like these dimensions are verified to be pretty darn accurate.

bet it would sit on the bottom of my hull pretty well.

Yes, that may be an option.  Looks like availability is early 2016.

If the new TotalScan ducer proves to be too big for this intended use, I can still run the HDI transducer & get CHIRP + DownScan imaging.  I REALLY want this to work for StructureScan imaging though.  I have a plan.....  :smt003

I'll want to try it on a ram arm over the side. The arm never bothered me too much.

That would totally work ... or off the stern of a PA would work well.
