That sounds like a cool adventure, Doug.  If you'd like to set something up I'd love to add it to the event weekend itinerary.  I do plan to do a hike and dive, but it's always contingent on the forecast - the Gitchell Creek reef is so wide open it really needs to be flat to pull it off.  There are good tides, but they're early again (like this year), so it will be a dawn patrol mission if it happens.

Monday, May 23, 2016 - low tide of -0.7 feet around 7AM.

Arriving at Gitchell right at the tide would be good.  We could search for urchins until legal abalone time...

Can do.

There is structure for much of the distance between buck and gitchell.  Searching for urchins sounds like a blast  :smt002

Our 41st wedding anniversary that weekend.  What better way to celebrate than a trip to the ocean?!  We will be there!

That sounds like the jewelry store commercial I just heard  where the man says he just bought the wife a dishwasher for their anniversary. The wife was not so enthused.
If the thought of going to GS on your anniversary brings a smile to her face - you've definitely got a keeper  :smt003

I'm taking her to Maui for her birthday in February, so she's good with it.  It think....

I'll just tell her we are going for a whale watching trip.  Yea, that'll work...

BTW, she's been asking for a new dishwasher.  Says this one is too noisy.  Maybe I'll sweeten the pot and throw in the dishwasher this anniversary too!  Am I a stud or what??!!  Ha!

Wow that's my wedding anniversary weekend too.  42 years.  I'll be at GS for sure but not with Sue.  We will pick another day to celebrate.

Holy mackerel! 42 years married? That's longer than most of these guys have been alive, congratulations!
