Went out Sat. 9/25 and targeted some WSB off SC3 bouy.. Saw tons and tons of marine life all over, on the FF and also around my yak! Got some pretty cool footage of these guys too as I tried to fly line a couple Spanish marks in their face, they weren't having it.. Just wanted to hang out!

Thought I'd post a couple screen shots, too bad the season was over, I could've gaffed the two Salmon who decided to use the kayak as protection or just wanted to hang out!.. Id say they were in the range of 15-25lbers and man oh man was it tempting to not grab one!

Then on my way in to New Brighton, I had a 30lb or so Black Seabass hang out too.. It was an epic day for conditions, fishing was slow.. no WSB, no flatties, tons of lings and rocks, but not what I was targeting.. Especially seeing two fish I couldn't catch rub it in my face!

Pics aren't that good, but you get the Idea. Just cool to see and a first for me on a yak to have a couple Salmon just hang out with you like pets!

that's really interesting, and a little strange to see.  Probably some of those SC net pen fish that can't figure out where to go - based upon the coloration they look pretty close to spawn time.

I have heard that they follow whales too to try to pick up bait.. They definitely looked like they were in Spawn mode.. Lots of color, Actually looked REALLY healthy.. it was pretty cool to see these guys just hanging out... The footage of the fly lining of the Mack is pretty funny, now that I watched it again, they actually went after it twice, but no luck.. Would've been a fun fight.. but they were just hanging!

I really enjoyed the Black Seabass run in too! they are so Beautiful up close!

That is really amazing.

But what a waste that we can't target those salmon...
I don't like stuff that sucks.

Great encounter with wildlife! Thanks for sharing, I'd be happy to see that myself too!  :smt003
