I accidentally clicked on the "Fishing Hurts" link earlier today. It is under the "Sponsored Links" section, visible on most pages when viewing the forums.
And OMG! That is the "Worst Website Ever" (in the words of Comic Book Guy from the Simpsons)

I wonder which Peta freek hooked a dog for that photo op.  I've noticed in the past that some of these " Militant " organizations have had no problem inflicting pain onto others for their agenda, their exsistance is enough for me. Don't they realize that by catch and release, we are actually "educating " these fish to live a long and happy life, and who ever said education was'nt painful...I'm still working out my high school scars

  Yea they are pretty one minded. I e-mailed them saying that I thought it was pretty sick to even think about hooking a dog let alone post a picture of it. I told them that normal people don't think like who ever thought up the dog concept and that it would shock and alienate people that would normaly support their cause. They replied that it wasn't a real picture and I replied  that that wasn't the point I was trying to make. They gave me more BS then I asked them to show me some facts that Farmers kill less animals than Fishermen and I never got a response. I guess they only want supporters that don't ask questions.

Click on the ad...it hurts their pocket book!

I spent like 10 minutes clicking on the ad then clicking back and clicking on the ad again.

Who knows, but it felt good.

This is my understanding of the Peta ad and who is paying who...

1.) Bill signs up with google to place ads on NCKA.org
2.) PETA signs up with google to place ads on sites like NCKA.org that discuss fishing
3.) When someone clicks on the PETA link from within NCKA, google takes note, charges PETA for the click and gives some of that money to Bill.
4.) Bill uses the money from these ads to run the site.

So, when we click the PETA ad both Google and Bill make a little money.   However, Google has been trying to deal with something called "click fraud" where by someone clicks on the ads on their own page to make money from Google.  Becuase of this, I'm not 100% sure google pays for every click we do when we see the PETA ad, but I bet they pay for some of them.

Google and Bill win...PETA loses.  Click away!
