fish"n"dive and myself are going to head down to MB this weekend to do some spearing for RF and Calicos and maybe some perch for fish n chips this saturday around 8am. I usually park near the showers / restrooms by the launch ramp since its convenient. we will go south towards the aquarium.

for now the day is saturday unless something weird pops up. swells look to be around 7' as the high for now.

John,
Are you going to dive from your yak?
I only shoredive though (no hardshell kayak). Need to test out my new 115cm Aimrite speargun. Will see if I can pick off an anchovie from 15 ft away! Then I will be ready for that yt and wsb this summer.

leon, would be great to meet up but you need a kayak to go out of the breakwater, there is a city ordinance which says no sperguns allowed to enter the water from the beach and swimming from the launch would be crazy.

its still tentative to meet but we'll check visibility by calling the shops down there friday after the predicted storm.

we'll check in here on the forum friday night and decide. if you want since you have no kayak, park at el toritos on cannery row and get in there, swim south by chart house restaurant and spear with us there: ) thats an option and thats where we will be by as well.

a 115 is a nice size gun and hopefully we'll have vis good enough to use it. hope for good vis and decent weather!

You can borrow my kayak if you want, leony.
Nothing special, just an OK Drifter. I'm grounded for the wknd so no fishing for me. But I would love to get out there with you guys soon!
Good luck,
PK

PK,
Thanks for the offer. I think I will just shore dive with you and others this summer when you guys feel like doing north coast, Carmel or Big Sur.
Kayak is just a lot of trouble to haul around. I have a folding kayak that's made of hypalon and wood, but I only take it out twice a year. Too much trouble cleaning it afterwards.

Swell looks kind of sketchy for this weekend.

We're finding out of it's a boy or a girl on sat, so I can't go either way.  Be nice to know if I'll need a blue or pink fishing rod though.  ;)

Superior, they said, never gives up her dead
When the gales of November come early.

Yup, get some trips in.  The sloth of a pregnant wife rubs off (or am I tired from fetching takeout food and moving everything over 20lbs that needs moving?).

John,
All my friends with kids have to stay home during the weekends. No time for diving, and no more risk-taking. What? Freediving in freezing water with great whites? Do you know how dangerous it is?!  :smt001
Anyway, looks like the swell is calming down this weekend. I will probably be shore-diving from Carmel/Pebble Beach somewhere.  Water temp 50 degree, not too bad. Any shorediving companions welcome.  :smt006
