PB Lingzilla @ Albion 2015

I'm posting so all my NCKA brethren who weren't able to make it to Albion or just didn't happen to see my personal best lingcod.
I'm still stoked and can't believe I've actually finally accomplish one of my goals of landing a 40"+ Lingzilla. To be honest it was the biggest lingcod I've ever seen in person.

Albion started a bit rough when I hurt my back setting up camp on thursday. It was so bad I could barely walk in my own campsite. So sorry if I didn't come visit. I wasn't trying to be antisocial, I just couldn't walk.  
I even thought I wouldn't be fishing the tournament but I sucked it up and glad I did .
Monster ling was landed with about a hour before check-in and I wasn't keeping any fish up until that moment.
I fished for a bit longer longer trying for a kicker rockfish but being in pain and paddling slow, I figured I better make my way in to check-in. Well I almost place in top 3 with only 1 fish    

I want to thank Cameron(Bwodun) for the old school top secret lure and barley pops, Rob(RacingRob) for the 4oz jighead, Andy(Fishmaster) and Howard(Hojo) for the pictures and Jim(Goz) and Alan(Alfredo) for the meds.
I also want to thank my wife for letting me fish on our 1st wedding anniverity. Thank you babe.

I was stoked to hear you caught that thick b*tch, as you said it was pretty slow for you when Kiel, Adam, and I passed you while we were headed in.

That is one hell of a nice ling!  The rumors of it spread through the camp like a wildfire.  The pictures of the head alone were awesome.  Someday, I hope to get one!

Toads like that are a rare thing on the California coast nowadays. I'm sure a LOT of rock fish died in those jaws over the years. Did the Aleve work for you? Hope your back is doing better. It can take the fun out things in a hurry. Glad you made the most of your outing Marcos.

Saw this on FB, and wanted to say that I'm totally stoked for you Marcos!  What a monster linger.  40+ inchers sure don't come easy.  I can only imagine the size of the fillets off that toad, let alone the cheeks  .
