I got there a bit late - 11:00 - Sean, Eric, Steve and frank at the H.H. already, and hooked up. Not sure who hooked up, but I think almost everyone did but me... Beautiful day on the water, glass, sunny, saw PBs pulling in the stripers, And of course saw Frank go for a ride till it shook of at the yak, nice meeting you Frank and thanx for the cold ones!
Tried out the new Pentax, what a great camera!

What a day!  Beautiful water, warm weather,tons of hookups, good company and...I FINALLYcaught one!! wooohOOOOO!!  Erik, thanks for your help and Ben thanks for the beer!  Just when I thought it couldn't get any better there was a bikini model photo shoot going down in front of my van when I got back to the launch.  11 out of 10!

Perfect day on the water today...

Score for the boys at the Honey Hole are as follows:

Scwafish = 1 keeper approx 50 inches
Erik = 1 released approx 46 inches + one broken off that was in the 50 inch range
Frank = 1 'premature release' of a slightly undersized fish.

Here are the pics...   I also have some video that I'll try to get up later.

1 = Sean Hooked up
2 = One of Sean's many attempts to snare the wiley beast
3 = Another one of Sean's many attempts to snare the wiley beast
4 = Sean's money shot
5 = Frank... fishing

Awesome pic Erik...thanks!  BTW-your field estimate was on the money.  That fish was 50 exactly.

WTG Sean!!!

Getting paid to fish, free beer and some off the water scenery.  Life doesn't get any better than that.

Couple more pics from yesterday.   Me and Brent Wood (aka pondsurf) with our twins...

On the paddle in I realized I had a bit of a dilemna on my hands.  Since I never catch any sturgeon, and planned on releasing one if I ever did, I had made no plans for getting this 50 inch fish home.  I had left our trailer at home, and brought Leah's mini van which has carpet and fuzzy stuff EVERYWHERE.  I breifly considered using her Yoga mat, which is always in the back of the van, but I wisely considered the WAF issues involved with that option before sliming the mat.

Then I had an idea  :tard: I'll put it down my pants!

Step 1:  Turn waders inside out and put on picnic table.  Clean dino of debris.

Step 2:  Insert dino carefully.

Step 3: Slide dino down your pants far enough to distract on-going bikini photo shoot.

Step 4:  Ready to put in your wifes minivan!  Add ice at your earliest opportunity.

Step 5: Remove sturgy from pants when you get home.  Thoroughly wash ooze from pants.
