I have to say I am a little disappointed at the pics..or should I say..... LACK OF THEM!!!!!!!!!!!! :tearyeyed:
Mooch was gracious enough to share some extra scenery when he bagged his big salmon. :headbang:
Maybe the photographer should be more cognizant of the back ground scenery and position the lens in such a manner to capture the magic of the moment.
Then again maybe Sean wouldn't have had such a HUGE smile on his face if his back was towards the scenery instead of facing it. :smt045
Kidding of course. Great job by all. December seems to be the month of firsts for a lot of us eh? Can't wait to see what '07 has in store for us.

Here's how my day started at the Lock Lomon Wharf ( for you Tote) buying ghosties and listening to fish stories must say I was fired up for the day with this scenery who wouldn't be.
Meet the hunting expedition at China Camp where I meet a bunch of Kayakers who were funny and friendly. Short term memory prevents me from posting everyones name. I fished with Eric and Sean with my first cast getting a bite. They both hooked up with Eric first and then not even five minuets later Sean.
Eric had just released his undersize when Sean rod dip the pump and a smile went across his face to rival any I have seen. At a distance I could see that Sean was in for a good fight and when he and Eric finally corralled the 50" Sturge it was like hearing the SF Choir singing Hallelujah! in harmony from one guy. Way to go Sean and congrats on landing the elusive Dino.
I hooked up just before Sean went to the beach stuffing and his pants with the Dino to impress the hotties.
Funny how the small ones hit. When I set the hook their was a brief hesitation as if I missed it then it went ballistic. I mean absolutely everything a fisherman could want out of a fish. It ran,surfaced,went deep (if you can call 7' deep) and then ran some more taking me for the beloved sleigh ride, ti's the season.
When I finally saw this fish surface and saw a white and grey diamond color I was quit literally on earth as it is in heaven ( to steal a line from a prayer).
Ben Guitarzan, Sean the Dragon sleigher and Eric the Dino Master did some excellent coaching with Ben coming along side as the beast came from the depths tired but not done. Only 25" to 30" ? it was a obvious release I did touch the fish and leader before it shook the hair thin lipped hook and spat it out . What a charge people.
Thanks guys for you positive inputs and assistance. Nice pics all but I must say that I too am dissapionted in no Hottie pictures. Eric said that when he was paddleing back it was the first time his Maurader got to 6mph :}
Happy New Years to all and be safe, "You Feeling Me InsaneD"!!!!!! :} :} :}

Sean after looking at those pictures again, you look like a kid let loose in a candy store a smile like that is what it's all about.
What could funnier than a Fishery Biologist with a fish in his pants, hey are those your work pants?

Wow!!! Awesome day for all of you.  Good pics and story.

I've been out fishing for them from shore every night this week (south bay) but haven't had any luck...One day I'll be at the right place at the right time.

After seeing the pics and reading the post I've decided to order my wet suit later tonight so I can try to be a part of the next expedition.

Congratulations all of you.
