Attention Fishnerds! Can you ID?

Caught yesterday in Carmel, near the submarine canyon.

Loks like a freckled to me, according to DFW photo. They state max length of 9".

Can even see the "toothed knobs on the premaxillaries"!!

Yeah when I looked at the Rockfish ID chart, it looked most like a freckled rf. But I'm still not 100% certain. Waiting for confirmation from my biologist buddies. The horns around its eyes and long dorsal spines tripped me out. Little effer spiked me with its face horns!

Lots of interesting and unusual fish being pushed north due to warm water.

It's likely a Freckled Rockfish or a Rosethorn Rockfish. I'm trying to determine if Rosethorns also have "toothed knobs on the premaxillaries" like frekled rf.

I like how they list similar species below. This helped me eliminate greenspotted or green blotched RF (which is what the pros suggested) because they apparently don't have the notched upper jaw or knobs.
