Didn't get to go on my yak today.
Took the kids to beach and dug up a bunch of sand crabs. After washing and getting rid of sand, I fried them up in a light batter.
My goodness they would make nice crunch snacks. Will have to use the leftovers for perch bait. I wonder if any other bottom fish would love them?
I fried them whole and ahells were pretty soft.

My cousin gets them too but she did prepare them the Asian style. she say it's taste better than chicken but somehow it didn't convince me. I'll post a picture when I get one.

btw, is there a limit on sand fleas? 25?

My biggest worry is that my wife(when I'm dead)will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it

I have a couple friends who eat them. Me, not so much.

We found that if you blanch them in boiling water for a few seconds until they turn a light orange the perch seem to really like them.

There is no limit that I'm aware of but we only take enough for bait.

Looks good my gf has been telling forever to get some so she can deep fry them. She says they taste like soft shell crab :yum:

There are limits for them.  Section 29.85 (d) states that the limit is 50.
