Went out with TBone Saturday morning from Discovery Park only to find the top water temps at 76 degrees and wind throwing us upriver. Bad day, no fish. Chromes are passing straight through. Flossing fools have landed a couple up at Nimbus already. I am going to paddle out of Sailor's Bar Saturday if anyone is interested.

Thanks for the report. I was going to try for Walnut Grove today but ended up doing chores around the house. Good luck next time!

Im most likely down. I fished dredge holes today and I wanna go up top somewhere next. Water was 74deg but I agree I think they are passing through quikly. Would like to anchor somewhere narrow possibly...

I am going to try and get there at gray light thirty. Not guaranteeing that will happen but will try like hell to get there early. Nimbus bankers are landing fish- we need to land bigger fish. Anyone know a baitshop close by where I can snag some sardines and crawfish? I also don't have any roe... yet.

Not really much for bait shop around that area besides the new sportsmans. Me and a buddy will be launching sailors as soon as they open the gate.were going to anchor with kwikfish n hope for the best. Donr forget its barbless!

Thanks for the reminder, I have some Kwikfish, Krokodiles and Flying C's, my plan was the same as yours. Ill come say hi if I see ya. I thought barbless only if the lure is heavier than 1 ounce?

1 oz n less non buoyant lures can have multiple hooks. Over 1 0z non buoyant is single hook. Nothing to do with barbless rules. I checked regs today and It says barbless hooks only. Thats says it all if you ask me...?

Ah yes, I was confused. Some pliers will take care of those barbs. Thanks for the info! See you there.

American river is so confusing with the rules and regs but I understand that they just want the fish to have a fighting chance to make it to the hatchery and for future fishing. I know pretty much you should just go barbless from the fishery to the I 80 crossing. If you read into it, there may or may not be some dates where you can but life is too short, I just rather comply and go barbless to make sure.

Someone also indicated to me that you can't use two poles on a barbless only area. I do recall reading something about it but the verbiage is tricky and can be misinterpreted. Again, I just go with one line in the water just to be sure.

I very well could be wrong but I rather play it safe and save my money for much needed gear than to pay a fine.

I completely agree with you Mondo. The feeling you get when landing a big fish legally is much more satisfying. Good anglers can abide by the regs and still land fish. I am looking forward to Saturday morning.

Always been one rod in the barbless section.
