Tried something a little different last night with a mack that was caught on sunday. Rolled it in olive oil put a nice hickory rub on it and stuffed it with banana, lime and onions. Slow grilled over a bed of onions and oak wood. Came out great! Nice firm smoky flavor to it.. Gonna try with mango next..

After hooking three at once with the sabaki it was pretty much toast, so we changed up to a single hook with slider weight. The pic doesn't do the fish justice.. It was massive.. :smt007.. Gonna head back out real soon just to target these fish.

man.. that looks great..   I did not know macks are that big yet. I hooked a few in 130 FOW in carmel last weekend. They were only about 7-8inches.

Looks tasty.  What kind of mackerel is that?  I have fond memories of going down to the cement ship with my dad as a kid when there was a huge run of those.  We caught a couple coolers full in an hour or two.  Super fun on light tackle, was probably the best time I ever had fishing.

Pacific macks. They were all 15" or bigger out there. PIF gonna be a blast!
