Grilled Mack

Yeah it was a first for me this past week and now that I know how good they taste I would target them again. 

These are next to 3 30" plus lings for comparison. 

Dang those macks are approaching the size of small bonies.

Did you guys bleed em?

did you send them back out as live bait?

did you catch it on damashi (sabiki)?

After hooking three at once with the sabaki it was pretty much toast, so we changed up to a single hook with slider weight. The pic doesn't do the fish justice.. It was massive.. .. Gonna head back out real soon just to target these fish.

I got those on salmon lures on a different day.  I was just posting their size and my new found love for a fish I never tried to target. 

I thought about using the sabikis for some smaller bait we went through but didn't because we're were getting hits and thought they were salmon misses.  The lings we got later were full of smaller bait fish and they were puking up buckets of the little guys.
