I still recall maybe GS7, finally getting to meet & chill with the already-known "redneck comedian".

The A-Hulls all told me you were a good guy, and  figured that was an excellent recommendation.

Wait a sec.........
 :smt005

hope you are feeling better soon.

Well, I wont bullshit you guys. Not looking good. Most of you know I was a pretty heavy drinker for quite some time.  That most definately is playing a role in this. A few weeks ago, Cody and I went to Almanor and had a great time! That Sunday we went to Lake Antelope and fished. It was really cold at day break, so we goofed around to let the sun come up before we splashed. I got both kayaks off the truck myself, like I did a hundred times before. Later, I felt like a pulled muscle in my left rib area of my back. No big deal, just pulled a muscle I was thinking. Monday it git worse,  tuesday, wednesday I realky thought I tore a muscle! Then it moved around. My pee turned to rootbeer, so I thought kidney stones and went to er. Pee cleared up, and was diagnosed with acute pancreatitis. Well, in and out of hospitals, treated for pulmonary adema and some other complications. So where am I now? Well, my pancreas has stopped making digestive enzymes,  but is still producing insulin which is a really good thing. We are waiting for the inflamation to go down to see what the "damage" is as far as dead tissue-pancreatic narcosis. This can kill you. Fast. It will attach other organs like liver, heart, kungs, kidneys, etc. I should have some answers this week. Im still alive, and most cases, if I was going to die, I prob would have already. But I am not out of the woods.
So, what does it feel like, and what do I look like lol? Well, it hurts. Feels like BigJim gave my left ribs a hand shake! I can't eat much, so I have dropped from 275 to 260. Not a bad thing ;) but I cant eat heavy stuff. I was on a diet of rice and scrambled egg for a while. I am taking meds to replace the enzymes, so I can digest food. This lets me eat a little more without fecal impaction (you guys already knew I was full of shit, have been for years!) Whenever I eat, it really hurts. It calls for the pancreas to make enzymes. So, I pretty much am in a constant state of pain with spikes whenever I eat stuff. I dont really get hungry, just eat a littke now and then because I know I have to. The big thing is hydration, I ket myself get dehydrated this week and spent the night in icu. Nurse was a BIOTCH! I never win... There is a calculator the docs use called the Ranson's calculator, which predicts mortality on acute pancreatitis. I went back and took my lab results and plugged them in, and it calculated 40%. That is based on first 48 hours after hospital admission. I lived, so either I beat odds, or something.
I don't know what is in store for tomorrow. I feel today, the same as I did the first day I went into the hospital. Kind of nauseated, abdominal pain, fever from time to time (most of the time, but periods of no fever). When I sleep it feels like a softball has been tucked up under my ribs, and no matter how you lay down, you are not going to be comfortable. Eventually, you just get tired enough that you just sleep.
I have been working when I can in the office, even went fishing once with Adam on the kayak one day I felt ok. I'll get thru. So, now you know, what I know.
Live your life, the way you want to be remembered. Don't have any regrets, we only get this one dance to make it count. Start at your eulogy, and work backwards.
