Been kinda thinking about improving my seat in the Viking while still keeping a low COG. Today walking through Costco I saw a bleacher seat that I couldn't resist for $20. Fits good and seems to sit pretty low.

Wow,,,  I like it,,, and it's  cheap !     So is it steel ?  aluminum ?

Just be careful you don't damage the yak.    You're putting pressure on points that were not designed for that seat.

Has anybody come up with a solution like this for a Hobie Revo?

Yeah my plan is to create a cradle that will support the contact points and hold the seat in place. Not sure of the material I will use yet. Just excited to get a comfy seat that fits the space well.

Nice mod. Try wrapping the legs in pool noodles. That should cushion the contact points and spread out the load. Looks like you can use the padeyes in front of your seat to secure it to your kayak.

I made something for support out of fiberglass,  for a boat seat to attach to.

I see the purple styrofoam in your picture you're working with and read the suggestion of pool noodles to distribute weight at contact points.. seismic joint foam might be a better material to make a perch for the chair. you can cut it with the circular saw and shape it with a angle grinder using a sandpaper paddle disc. the material is extremely dense
