Tackle storage ...

first pic is of the storage method at my shop...old file cabinets labeled with different types of tackle

second pic....typical tackle box ready to be put in hatch or large Plano box in tank well

third pic...a little trick Juan showed us for keeping lures you are using at the moment...a little caulking in the cup      holder

pic four is of tackle that was used recently ...rinsed and put on card board to dry thoroughly

the final picture is how our tackle usually looks like after multiple trips and it's waiting to be sorted and put away..hahaha

My entire everything looks like that second pic. :smt044
My friend the other day suggested I maybe knock some rust off my jigs and sharpen a hook or two.
My obvious reply was "why". :smt044

Thanks for all the pictures. Every time I switch lures or re-tie I get sloppy and my tackle gets messy :smt044 It takes discipline to put stuff back in the right spot, (especially if the bite is good)!! Thats sucks about your gaff. Pretty surprising how most of you guys are so organized… not..cough cough*Chadrock*  :smt002

What I do I rig a rod the night before and pick the 2 lures I am most likely to use next and keep them in the cup holder, then few extra sets if different rigs in the hobie tackle box that goes in the round hatch between the legs and an I keep the rest like compass and other safety stuff and another one or two sets of lures in the dry box inside the kayak.

I use small boxes and split it by either fish type or fishing style. I try to stay light weight. And not take more than necessary. Less to lose if the boat goes over.
I only fish on days that end with Y

milk crate with p.v.c sections for poles
at home i'm using a large wllymart blue bin and moving towards/shopping for clear little bins-clear lid too to fit inside....
some guys take one pole and a small box out..some guys take 6 poles and 3 boxes lol

I take 4 poles and one of everything lol

I heard it said" Hey man ,I bought all this stuff to play with ,why leave it at home?"
that has helped me accept that I'm a hoarder on the water....

the only rule I do use is 'float'--if it does not float---it is ticking away to its time to go bye bye...if it aint tied on or does not float--say good bye
We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful about what we pretend to be.

I want to stay as close to the edge as I can without going over. Out on the edge you see all kinds of things you can't see from the center.

People aren’t supposed to look back. I’m certainly not going to do it anymore.”

I use the"one pile" method. It may take me a while to find it but I know where it is.

If I'm on my revo i often put a used cleaned out Ovaltine jar in the cup holder. It's a perfect snug fit with a screw top lid that is easy to remove and drop lures or weights in I am using or used. If I have a leader to store I put it under the jar and it doesn't get all tangled up and is ready to use. Allen I'd be more inclined to put that goop in one or both of the netted side storage areas because I like to put the ovaltine bottle in where you have gooped.
