I will be the first to admit I went OCD, anal, over the top on this one.
Hey, I have only been out twice this year; once in January and once in March and I haven't caught a fish.
The shoulder is close to being ready to fish but not quite. It is pouring rain. I was going friggin' nutso so I had to find something to do that was even remotely related to fishing.
I know, go through my stuff.
I found a couple of plastic storage bins at Walmart that fit my other boxes very nicely so I bought several of each.
Found some Tupperware containers that also fit great.
Started putting everything that was alike together then putting that in containers.
That wasn't so bad.
It got bad when I decided to label and index everything I had.
At least this way I don't have to be around when CHUB has to find something and there is no doubt as to where it goes when he is done. That goes for me too. As I age the memory loss is accruing.
The good thing about it is that I found stuff I either couldn't find before or forgot I had.
I also made a TON of extra room by storing some things like waders, rain gear, downrigger and fish finders in their own stackable containers.
Don't shake your head too bad when looking at the photos.
I think I may need to seek professional help.

Good job Mike. Looks nice. Glad to hear your healing up.

I was impressed the last time you posted an organizing report.

I should pay attention here and do the same.

The contents location list is a nice touch, something I would have appreciated before my tackle went its current diaspora (my tackle is now located in all nooks and crannies of the house).

WOW !!!  that is impressive. i'm no psycologist but i would reccomend several ice cold cans of therapy followed up by a multi-day camping/fishing trip with several safety-meetings interspersed throughout. trust me, it works. before you know it, you wont even be able to find the labelmaker nor will you give a damn.

Tote-

WTF!!! Over the top... there are no words for what you've done. You'd probably kill me if you saw my tackle storage system... Nice to see you using your spare time wisely... BTW... I called you the other week. Left a message with Jackson... Now I see why I never got a call back...

I am totally impressed! You should start a service like California Closets - you'll make a killing!

Dude, I remember your last post about tackle organization. But this one took it to a HNL (HullNuthaLevel)!
If you saw the disorganized mess that is my tackle garage....your head would explode hahaha! I really need to get organized.

Wow!  It's like my dream come true!  :smt007  I'm starting to organize a lot more myself, but nothing picture worthy!  Maybe I'll borrow a label maker from work and go to town on my storage boxes!

It's a LOT cheaper to get the packs of peel and stick labels and a Sharpie. It's a $1.88 for 160 thin labels or 125 wide labels as opposed to $7.44 for one label cartridge. And that's not counting the label maker. A lot quicker too.

Tote,

There's nothing wrong with a little OCD, it works for you!! :smt044

But where are the photos of the rods and reels. You've got to have a boatload to support all that terminal tackle......

Incredible!!

I'm impressed.  The index key may be a little over the top, but still...  beats frantically looking for the rootbeer scampis at 5am...

I've ended up buying things I already have cuz I can't find em.  Now I've got everything pretty well organized in one spot, but not like that!!!
