Anybody else notice it?? They kicked the seals off the dock, and added a salmon pen. I saw baby salmon jumping around in the pen.. This could be a good thing. Anyone with info on this???

Yes. This is to prevent the "unwanted interaction in SC harbor between fishermen and other harbor-users." Since these salmon were causing such "problems" they decided to move the rearing pens to Moss Landing...where it'll be craycray when these salmon return in 3-4yrs!!!

Not this year but when they come back in a few years trying to spawn - yes!  :smt003

Santa Cruz Harbor combat fishing South come late summer/early fall of 2017 & 2018.  Maybe they'll figure out a way to make it work.

I can only imagine how healthy those fish will be with the canyon right there and all the forage they will have... Good choice on the move. Combat zone? Gotta have a car to get to moss from SC :smt044 No homeless in Moss cause there's no shelter... Could be epic slaying just outside the jeddy's... :smt007
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I would have paid to watch them clear that nasty bunch of blubber off the dock.  Some aggressive males hanging around those docks.

The 'new' administration at Santa Cruz harbor has forgotten why the Harbor was built.  For fishermen!!  They made it impossible for us to stay there with the net pens.

The Moss Landing harbor welcomes us with open arms.  Still an angler's harbor, not a golf and yacht club crew.  (No offense to any of you who play golf, I do not, being incapable of multiple obsessions).

Santa Cruz has gotten really strict and really unfriendly.  Some staff are still regular people and we love them, but.....General top down attitude is "My way or the Highway."

Route 1 runs right down to Moss.........

And yes in a few years, imagine the fun we'll have casting from the jetties and such!!
