The winner is....

I have no time for a full report right now but want to clarify that despite us all being winners, I took the day. It was good fishing with yall.

First time at Albion.  Place is pretty awesome.  Like it was said by everyone else.  Met some cool peeps and ate some awesome food. Too much food.  Fished Friday afternoon for a bit. Conditions Saturday were hella sporty!!  Swells were rollin pretty good.  Got seasick for the first time in my life :smt013.

Potluck was badass! Congratulations to all the winners!

Fished Sunday morning conditions were sweet.  Flatwater, light wind.  But that turned about 1100 when fan kicked on and current started rippin.  Kept a nice cabezon to take home.

The water clarity at Albion was incredible.  Makes me want to start diving!   Maybe next year!

Good Times!

Shuland was the bomb.  Nice fish were caught.  I had a blast hanging out with Keith, Andrew, Dan, Herb, Tim, Won and the rest of the fam, and big thanks to Antonio for letting me crash at his camp.   :smt001

My report:

Where do I even find the words to describe this weekend?! First off, thanks to everyone who worked hard to put this amazing event on. It was my first Albion and first NCKA event and I must say its gunna be a hard one to top!! Got there Thursday night and met one of the coolest dudes around, TW, who we were lucky enough to camp with all weekend!! Friday morning, Nick and I went fishing and I caught my PB Verm at 20.5 inches! I also got a my first sole at 15 inches but threw it back cuz it had parasites all over it. According to Pablito when you throw one back you have no soul...Came back in, met some more people, ate some bomb food (thanks baitnbeer), and then met Sarge who is THE man! Sarge and TW took us under their wings and showed us the ropes with abalone diving! It was our first time diving and I got 2 abs and Nick got 3! I freaking loved diving and being in a whole new underwater world- what an experience! We met some more people and fried up a couple of abs for dinner and gave some away. Saturday was big tourney day and i wasn't a contender but I was happy with my 30.5" and 29.5" lings. Nick went back out with sarge and TW for more abs Saturday and got some quality ones while I stayed back and prepped our potluck stuff! The potluck was filled with amazing food, awesome people, and great times. I was super lucky in the raffle and won a collapsible crab cage (sweet!), a truck rack (hell yeah, but now I need to buy a truck!), and I won the SUP (%#&$ YEAH)!!!! I cannot even begin to tell you how stoked I am and how grateful I am.. Seriously so bad ass! I can't wait to go crabbing on it! Sunday morning we were planning on going fishing but it was windier than the other days and we decided to go dive for abs. We gave away the ones we had and went out and both got our limits. I guess you can say we are hooked!! This weekend was incredible and my cheeks hurt from smiling so much! I can't thank everyone enough for being so kind, welcoming, and bad freakin ass! I met so many cool people and I look forward to fishing with you guys! Big shoutout to TW and Sarge again, Kyle, Anthony, B-rad, and Mike! You guys were a huge part in why this weekend was as epic as it was! Can't wait to see everyone at simply fishing!!

The bbq pit was awesome thanks again bro. Cooked a whole piglet on it with room to spare.. Pic attached. Don't mind the hairless Chihuahua in the pic.
