How is the sizing for the Kokatat dry suits and dry pants? Do they run big or small? Im a 38 waist and seem to be in between sizes. Not sure if L or XL is gonna be my size. Im guessing I will go down to the local REI and see if they have some to try on.

I'll let you know tomorrow  :smt044

I wear size 36 in Carhartts, and ordered the L kokatat pants.

I'm 6' 190lbs and the XL size Kokatat Tempest pants are a little baggy...which doesn't matter when I'm sitting on my kayak...but when I walk around, it sounds like a corduroy pants parade from the chaffing haha

I just got my Large tempest pants, and they fit (not baggy) over my wetsuit.  I'm 5'11", 220ish lb, and wear a size 36 waist (in Levi's and Carhartt).

I stink my splash pants are L but forget exact size now.  I do recall I wanted them a little big.

I am 5'10 and 185 lbs.  I wear a Medium Tempest Pants and Large Angler Drysuit.  Great fit for me and plenty of room for layering.   :smt001

I'm 6'0" and 210 lbs and wear an XL.  I wouldn't trade them for the world!

If you are in between sizes for outerwear, go for the bigger one.

I went through the same thing before buying my Angler suit, and I'm definitely glad I opted for the XL. It's baggy, but I have zero restriction to my range of motion.

Check out Central Coast Kayaks in shell beach. It's a small shop, but they might have something you could try on. CCK in Oakland probably has what you're looking for.

Get the Large size Mike.

+1

After 5 days straight of paddling at GS, I can confidently say that I am very happy with my Large tempest pants.  They fit easily over the wet suit with room in the waist, and were not too baggy. RacinRob and I tried to surf the new Wildy thresher.  I bailed a few times, and there was minimal water in the pants (baggy pants have the potential to take on more water and make it heavier when you are re-boarding).
