My cross country trip...

    Been away for the past several weeks on a drive to the East coast.
       Love the " Interstate Inn's " !!!          Spent a day loading up a trailer load of  kayaks in Pennsylvania, before heading towards S. Carolina then Tampa, Florida where I got to pet a Manatee.    On the way to Texas had a close encounter with a Tornado somewhere near Baton Rouge !        Didn't see any flying cows, but watched a roof sail off a house, landing 80 feet away.    Amazing that my kayaks stayed strapped to the trailer!
     Covered most of Texas,,, from Houston to Dallas, then down to Corpus Christi where I had an opportunity to paddle out to the oil rigs with some of the locals.   The high point was pulling in a 40+ lb Jack Cravalle !!! 
      Finally arrived back in Santa Cruz 5am  Monday morning...   Close to 8,000 miles in just two weeks... 
  Gotta say,  " There's no place like home" !

   Picked up Three !!!      Needed to bring back some yaks to CA. for the new shop we just moved into.

  This manatee was very friendly.  Almost like wanted to socialize with us.       Noticed scars on it's back.   They didn't look like caused by a propeller ...

That's some serious driving!  The marriage of work and play seems to have worked out perfectly for you Jim!  Congrats! 

    Finally figured out how to download the video from I'phone.      lots of cars were pulling off and tucking in near me.    This was 9;30 am.. it turned dark as night within just a few minutes.

   Rail train cars were even blown off the bridge up the road a bit.
