Currently own a Tarpon 140, 28" width, 14ft long, 68lb, 375lb weigh limit.
I get 2.8 knots average paddling it.
I want a 2015 Revo 13, it has similar spec to Tarpon 140. I will use it for diving and Salmon trolling.
Here are my questions:

1- I want to keep my legs fresh before diving. What's average speed one get paddle the Revo?
2- Is the front hatch big enough to store freedive fins ?
3- Where can I get deal on this ?

Thanks. That's all for now,may be I'll come up with more questions later.

I own a 2015 Revo 13.  I don't dive so I can't comment on that part.  I've never averaged 2.8 knots pedaling out in the ocean.  Maybe on a rare flat windless nice day you can do that.  Most of the time you are correcting your direction with the rudder control because the wind and waves.

One time my rudder pin broke while I was a mile offshore.  So I had to paddle in with about 10 kts blowing.  The Revo 13 paddles just OK. The hull is round so it not as responsive paddling as your WS.

If you ask nicely, CCK or Adventure Sports will give you a discount.

Hi Chet,
While I love Hobie for fishing/trolling, I don't like it when dive.
I dove with it once. The mirage drive fins and rudders are always caught on kelp. Remove both then use paddle, hobie tracks terribly and moves slowly. When it drift side ways, its hard to control the direction going.

I was once in HMB going 3.0 knots trying to catch my buddy, and this guy from behind passed me. He was on a Hobie pedaling, not sure which model though.

George, which Hobie model did you dive off?

Chet, I have an AI. I dove with the main body no ama. That is equivalent to the 16' Advanture.

[/quote]

I no longer dive but I would think that moving a Hobie by leg propulsion would be a good warmup for the legs before diving. 2.8 knots, say 3 mph should not be stressful. Pushing Hobie hulls to the limit of hull speed can really overload the muscles in short order.

Cant speak for diving, but for trolling the Revo 16 (Adventure) is the way to go.  Its the most energy efficient boat out there.  Im getting over 8mi/burrito. And fast too.  I can maintain 3+mph for extended periods and sprint even higher.

I can paddle 3.5mph average. I tried to race JJQ on his revo 16 and could not keep up at all even though I was going at least 5mph. That's all I know about 2015 hoboes! Don't know how the 16 is compared to 13.
Thresher in avatar and Soupfin Shark in signature both caught and pic taken by me.

I wouldn't recommend a Revo 13 for diving. Not enough deck space, difficult to reboard from the water, kinda tippy, limited access to internal hull, and the mirage drive will get in the way. It's kickass for fishing though.

Im getting over 8mi/burrito.

On my Revo 16 I can average 5mph, a little over 4 knots.  I can get it up to 7mph with some effort but can't maintain it for long.  Front hatch it huge.  Kinda tippy though at 27.5" wide.  If I was going to dive I'd probably use my T15.

Hop on a Stealth Profisha 525 or 575 and it will be a totally different race. :smt002

+1 what pat said. the revo 13 is pretty tipsy when you try getting back in. i flipped it over a couple of times trying to get back into it, while my trident 13 i can get back into without any effort.

Thanks gents. I'll stick to my Tarpon for now.
When I get a bigger place then Revo 13 will be exclusively for H/L fishing.

I am always curious why some guys paddle so fast. It's either their big paddle blades, or their muscle power.  :smt004

Muscles (the paddling kind) + technique.
The kayak matters too. But a good paddler in a crappy kayak can usually go faster than a poor paddler in a fancy kayak.
Btw Chet, if you ever want to try diving from a Revo in Monterey area, just send me a message. Although mine's a 2010; not a 2015 (which might be even harder to reboard with the new seat, now that I think about it...just my speculation though).
