Come up to humboldt bay.  Way closer to the surface, sublimit 25 horsenecks in your 50 horseneck/martha washington bag limit.  Like you can seriously dig a trench 3' wide, 18" deep and 5' long and have 30 clams.

Anyone ever go clamming at Shelter Cove?
Pronounced in Spanish  ka·be·za de mar·t·yo
Translates to Hammerhead in English for my Gringo amigos.

I've seen gaper shells on the beach so they are around somewhere, but I don't know where. I've never seen a razor shell there.

But low tide at the cove is all about abalone for most people.

Hey dizz,
 I'm gonna hit the bodega harbor tomorrow morning on the way up to Sea Ranch. Hit the mud around 930 dig for an hour or so. Park on the side of the road just down from the West Side campground, walk right out.. It's fun.
