thanks for the invite. work is in the way with tomorrow. but i'd love to get a report. bodega bay is my usual spot. low tide usually means being on the jetty with a poke pole though! but i'd love to add some clams into the mix. i'll actually be down there on Monday morning for some jetty time and maybe surf perching.

what's the approach with storing clams? just for the drive home and get them sashimi and into some clam chowder asap? or can you keep them for a day or more somehow (like while camping for the rest of the weekend)?

thanks!

Put them on ice and you can keep them "fresh" for a couple days.

Nasty? Lol.......I'll take it!

It was a blast, fun seeing everyone, and just having fun! Wish I could have stayed longer, and enjoyed grub, but I had to boogy home to take care of some things I neglected far too long.

I will prob head back in June, will post hook up for sure!

There are  lots of good gaper clams just 5 minutes from my house and easier digging if your in the area.  Kiet got a limit and I don't think he hardly used a shovel.

Those hookups there look fun though.

Yo dtizz,
I've tried em all,,. From large pvc tubes, slurp gun, pvc and aluminum clam gun's. Honestly,  a good old fashioned trenching shovel has worked best for me. I'll go ahead and give up my best advice ( besides sticking yo finger in da hole). When you find a clam, just dig to the side of it and follow the siphon gallery down.  They aren't going anywhere. It's really as simple as that.
