Hi guys, how "entry level" is this event? If i do attend, it will be my first time fishing in the ocean. I took the safety class yesterday at hmb, and was able to experience less than ideal conditions. I am very excited to get out. Im assuming itll be safer since there will be so many people out. Also i thought it might be a great ncka icebreaker for me to attend an event like this.

MBK is probably as entry level as ocean fishing gets. Wear an PFD and wetsuit/drysuit, carry a VHF, buddy up with someone, or just follow Pat's groupies. He'll have a lot of them. 

plenty good way to get in and paddle with folks...if you lack any salt gear or stuff p.m...welcome to paddle with our small sub group too if you want...figure it all out though on the beach..monkey see monkey do

I'm bringing 2 people who have never kayak fished before. Both are deaf. I just made sure they are bringing the basic safety gear and gonna keep an eye on them. No big deal. Keep in mind your own comfort level. Just because a bunch of experienced guys are staying out when you feel nervous doesn't mean you should stay out. Nothing wrong with leaving early if you feel it's out of your comfort zone. Lots of great guys in NCKA willing to give advice if you talk to them.

I took offense at first, then i read a few posts back said you're bringing a couple deaf people along then it made sense and i kept telling myself "maybe hes just deaf". Its all good. Monkey see monkey do like someone said earlier.

Yeah I remembered that not everyone knows I'm deaf and decided to clarify! Haha.
