Sucks man.. This is why I am anti exercise...  :smt009 :smt003

Heal up man..  2 weeks is not bad. I broke my shoulder in 3 pieces last May. 3 months later I was hitting heavy weights.. Only to find out I was not healed as I thought after surgery.  I have been sitting getting fat. My shoulder finally got better.. I guess bones take 9 months to a year to start connecting/heal. It was the metal plates that was taking the lifting duty. I got my diet back on track, and planning to slowly hit the weights in a month.

Thanks for the reply Bro.  :smt001 Need to do a  lot more of this  :walk:  so I will stop feeling like this. :fat :fat
Slowly changing my diet. I had a friend who was doing to many bicep curls. He ripped his bicep and it rolled up into a ball close to lower shoulder. Youch!! Just hoping I can schedule surgery.... like yesterday !!

Been there done that. Worst pain ever when that tendon tore in half, I sounded like a squealing 6 year old girl when it snapped while lifting a patient. 4 months after surgery and hard rehab I went back to work

never met a Dry Fly I didn't like

Yeah.. I have the mindset of muscling shit around.. I my body took alot of strenuous beating and literal beating with bats and clubs, etc.. from scumbags.
As I got older I notice after turning 30..  This tear and break more easy..  Joints and tendon hurt that never hurted before..

My Ideal weight is 170-175..  I got to 195 which is my beer drinking ideal weight. 3 weakish into my diet im 187 this morning.  Simple calories in and calories out..  I keep at 1800 calories a day.. The first week is very difficult.. You will starve.. Now my hunger subsided.  I can even go as little as 1k calories a day.. But its not healthy to drop weight that fast. Calculate your BMI and add 15 calories per lb. That would be your maintenance weight of calorie intake per day.
Then subtract 500 calories a day. That should have you drop 1.5lbs a week.. 3500 calories = a lb of fat loss.   If you dont lift or do strenuous exercise or worry about muscle..   Dont worry too much about protein intake..  If you are aim for 1-2grams of protein per your ideal weight. Example I would intake 180grams of protein per day when I start lifting to maintain muscle.

Sorry for the Rant.. But its serious advice if you want to drop weight (cut).  I got many of my friends to cut weight. I also did this about 8 times since it takes a couple year to get to my beer drinking weight.  Every damn time I tell myself Fu*k ill never eat like a pig again.  :smt044..  Only once I ate like a pig and lost 45lbs.. Lots of muscle loss too..bootcamp :smt056

Being on the north side of 60 I can tell you from experience that weight gain is easy and loss is difficult.
When you fall it hurts more and longer and  takes longer to heal. best advice is moderation good diet,
exercise and sleep. Treat yourself right and you'll feel better in the long run...its a life style that constantly changes.
That said a wee dram of scotch now and then is ok  :smt002

All great advice.  :smt006. Now if my hours didnt fluctuate from 10 hrs a day to sometimes twelve all this great advise would definetly be  put into play. It doesnt help standing and sitting all day long for a living. Oh well. pays the bills. My time is coming up though. One left for college and simpler job in mind. Now if i can just make it 2 more years here. See ya !!
No excuses. I really need to get back into shape. I would really be fun to show pics of all of us at 20 and then the later years. youch !
Well maybe not.  :smt044
Surgery now scheduled for this monday. Should be ready for salmon and rock opener with no complications.  :smt007

Right on Alex, good luck bro. Hope you heal fast!
I had hernia repair surgery 3yrs ago and it took a month to feel right again, but I don't think twice about it now...it was laproscopic w/mesh patch. I could feel the patch in there for about 6 months after the surgery but not anymore.

Good Luck with the surgery wishing you a fast recovery.  I hear you regarding a simpler job. I've got a daughter that recently graduated and has a job and will be getting married in May and a son still in college. Retirement in some form is just around the corner. Trying to shed bills before all that happens and then maybe I can buy a kayak and start fishing rather than reading about it!  :smt044

What ?? Are you kidding me Brutha.. There are more than plenty of people including myself that are probably willing to lend a spare kayak  for you to go fishing with. As long as you are not disguising yourself, and you are not really elkhornson or whatever the son of a guns name was. lol. Not sure if you knew who he was?? More than welcome to use mine if in the area and im not using it.

Anyways. Thanks for the Well wishes.

Dude! What is wrong with you? The Man has been keeping me down for decades and I am actually getting what sounds like some reasonable recovery time and you want me to go back to work early ??   :smt013 :smt044 :smt044 Did my Boss just sign up for NCKA that I didn't know about.

Any time off from where I work is a premium that cant be missed. Seriously though.
