Was a massive internet bot released on that day?

Most users ever on-line for here, pierfishing.com, and at least one other forum I've seen recently were on May 27, 2012.

What gives?

I have no clue.

BUT, my favorite seedy "gentlemans club" in Managua is called 27 De Mayo.

Named after the neighborhood and street it is on.

Maybe bad weather on a weekend that stopped many from fishing, so they took to the forums to get their fishing fix instead?  I dunno.  Spring time is renowned for its nasty wind periods, and it's also when many people get back into fishing after taking the winter off (something I could never do  :smt005).

It was the day "Fish Porn" was first used... there was a little bit of a misunderstanding.

Kim Kardashian's butt?

If it was isolated to NCKA, I would've guessed it had something to do with Gimme Shelter. But if it's happening on other sites too, then ..?

PFIC and NCKA both had hundreds of more "people" visit the site that day than normal. If it was just NCKA I would've guessed shark attack, but since PFIC, which has been relatively slow the last few years, also had a large increase in traffic that day I'm guessing some kind of bot.

Can't remember the other forum. Maybe Sherdog or NWKA?
