Looking for advise on waders.

Id like something for the kayak and surf.  Something I can use for both environment.

I narrowed it down to neoprene chest high.

I am wondering should I get the boot for or stocking?

Im thinking about purchasing this.. Its stocking type.  That way I can wear in the surf and kayak. I feel its comparable to a farmer john wetsuit?

neoprene is gonna be really warm. I'd say get a "breathable" pair that are stocking foot and you can layer under them depending on conditions.

I tried to buy some stocking feet and I had a problem with the size of the stocking. It is one size fits all and didn't work for me. When I tried to put on a protective outer shoe there was too much material to stuff into the shoe.

caddis stockingfoot breathable (available on amazon and cheap).  Get the ones with a front zip if you want luxury, I love the front zipper personally)
then buy crocks or river shoes 2 or 3 sizes larger than you normally wear for best foot comfort with thick socks on. (I wear 12 every day, 14 crocks and 14 mesh shoes)

I have a pair of neoprene boot foot waders and i hate them! Super heavy when walking long distances and I get sores from where the boot rubs against my skin. Getting a pair of new waders soon and going for the stocking foot!

Im glad I asked..  Seems they are going plus minus 100 bucks.  I have trouble deciding since every brand says leaks will appear.,

I wouldn't get waders with attached boots. If you ever end up in the water, and you probably will, those heavy, clunky boots won't make for easy swimming/rescuing. Safety first!
