Not the answer to all of their issues, but its some depth and pushes Perez further down the depth chart. He came cheap - much cheaper andfor fewer years that he was excepted to demand. Great insurance for another Pagan injury but they still need to boost the power to account for the Morse and Sandoval departures.

Seems like they're going to cut bait this year until some deals fall in their laps during the first half. If nothing does, they'll lose substantial payroll after the season and can go after the big free agent off-season next winter. Three championships in five years buys a little equity and leeway.

Nori Aoki will add some depth for sure. Pagan is the best, but even the best is no good if he's not there.

As a huge SF Giant's fan since about 1960, winning 3 WS in the last 5 years is almost beyond my wildest dreams. I could have died happy after the first one.

One thing I've learned to do over this stretch is to trust the management. They seem to make a team out of whoever they get. Bochy deserves a lot of credit as does his coaching staff. Great teams need everyone, but depend on no one. Someone always steps up. End of rant. GO GIANTS!

As much as I liked him, we watched Mike Morse in left last season so "liability in the field" is a relative term. Aoki isn't a game changer but hes a nice piece to have, especially at that price considering his speed and the size of that park. I would have liked to have seen them take a gamble on Rasmus on a one year deal to bolster the middle of their lineup though.
