Good on CCK for offering these coastal safety classes. $99 is super affordable for the level of instruction those guys offer.

Thanks James.  I've just signed up for the class.   It has been almost 30 years since I took a beginning kayak class from them  CCK. Of course in those days, self rescue was a lot more tougher. They were the sit inside kayaks.  Sit on top kayak was a relatively new idea.  Man did I missed the boat.  I should have stayed with it.

Anyone else interested in this class, please sign up.  They will cancel the class, if I am the only one in. We need at least two for a go.

Signed up for me and SaraL.

Oddly, I couldn't figure out how to get the discount for bringing my own kayak and gear to process at checkout.   Not a biggie, only one of us is bringing a boat anyhow.

I'm in as well!  I think I'd rather use their kayak for surf launch school... my AI might brain me with a crossbar in the noggin.

Wonderful having you all join. I think I will use their kayak as well. I was going to use my own so that I can get more used to it. But I think it is a lot less hassle just jump on theirs.  looking forward to meeting you all.

I'd recommend bringing your own kayak unless your model is the same as theirs. Every kayak is different with how to right the capsized boat, depending in handle design, width, etc. Its best to practice in your own kayak.  I do it every year for each of my new kayaks and I've learned a lot of things.  Like I can't flip a Propel 13 over so I need a rescue line to help.
