I had a meeting in Sonoma County mid November and ran through the City, crossed the gate to and from.

Sunday I check my mail and Find a notice from FasTrak with red warning bars and immediate attention notices accross the front.

Shazaaaam! Toll Evasion baby, notice date of 1/2/15, I owe $7.00 for the toll and $25 for being a scumbag scofflaw.

My initial reaction....wtf, never got my 1st notice, which I was waiting for. Monday, go to mailbox. Sure enough, there's my bill for the Bridge Toll, dated 1/5/15.

And mailed to me the day after they send me a $32 bill for being a scum.  Sweet.

Obviously I will contest......or will I?

Just got off the phone with the number on the back of the notices, according to the automated phone message, FasTrak is too busy to answer my call and directs me to the  website.

I'll be emailing them shortly :( I wonder if they'll figure out the coded swear words I include letting them know what I think of their service.

Cross through toll booth, camera takes pic of license plate, they mail you an invoice, you pay online or via phone, if you don't pay they send the toll evasion notice and charge you an extra $25, if you don't pay that they report to DMV and they ding you when your registration is due.

In this case they mailed me the evasion notice with a fine and then mailed me the first notice.

This is all in lieu of toll booth employees that collect when you cross.

I just wait in line and pay cash... No questions that way. I'm not down that way enough to worry about it though...
my new name should be Ostridge. Got my head in the sand. Going fishing and letting go of the other stuff I can't control anyway!

I would have done teh same but the booths are all unmanned, you don't have a pay cash option.

About 6 months ago they closed all the booths.  Now you pick any lane, drive thru & about a month later they mail you the bill for the toll ... to be paid online since EVERY time I have tried to call the system is too busy & call back later.  Online - everytime!

Whaaaat?  It's not cost effective to have someone there to collect cash all day?

Nothing worse than organizations that make it difficult to give them money.

That's what they "claim".  Guess it is easier to have it handled automated.

good luck trying to win this. i rather pay the fine then to wait 2-3 hour on the phone to talk to someone and then finding out that i NEED to send them a letter explaining to them why my fastrak was charged for going in the carpool lane! :smt013 :smt013

I thought you were selling a solidworks upgrade named fastrak  :smt044.  WTH did I open this thread for, damn you!

PS.  You're screwed.  just pay the fee and fine.  Classic government BOHICA and you will not win w/o spending gobs of time.
