Hey! let's get the group area at Greenhorn reserved. It is on the water... Short drive in off 174... Where the fish are... And we could still pull out at peninsula to access the back of the lake... Greenhorn is nice and if you get a beachfront site.... Event right on the water.... Get er done http://www.nevadacountythingstodo.com/camping/greenhorne/

Office open tonight after 5pm (off season...) Waterfront camping 35.00 a night 4 people and 1 car per site 16.50 extra vehicle... I'll be calling tonight and already left a message...

Sounds good to me.  Lets let Mike handle the details so we dont end up going in all directions at once tho.

Hey Ron,

Getting excited, I am!

Yes, Greenhorn is really the only campground with on the water access right from your site, but there are issues. I'm working with Orchard now but dealing with the NID is kinda a pain. I have a call into Greenhorn and plan to swing back up there to look around AGAIN next week, pre-fish, bla bla, I'll let you know if you want to join me.

I was hoping to see if there was a camping update, but has it been all worked out yet?
Just an FYI, I called an left a message for Orchard Springs, because we were thinking of staying there anyways. However, had a not-so-great experience with trying to make reservations...
After playing phone tag about five times, I call again, leave a message - he calls back a short time later, but I am driving.
He tells me which sites are open and I say, I'd love to reserve it but I need to call him back with my credit card number because I am driving.
The dude then proceeds with giving me a lecture about how he has to return 50 phone calls, and that people need to be ready with their payment info when he calls them. WTH?
I explain that I didn't know when he was going to call me back, and I can't control whether or not I am driving at the exact time he calls. Sheesh. Border line rude - I have never had such a tough time making a reservation. The guys made me feel like it was a privilege for him to call me, LOL.

In any case, thought I would share my experience. Customer service might be an issue in some ways. The map doesn't look as if they have enough sites for a group our size....so how is this going to work?

This lake is completely new to me. Are we waiting to see if we get a discounted rate, or have we not decided which campground yet?

I called to reserve and a message said the office was only open at night, a couple times per week.  :smt102 I had to leave a message so they can call me back at night.

Ron,
Yes, you can have any campsite you wish. I suggest just leaving a message with your name and site your interested in, make sure to mention you're part of the Freshkats event. Or just show up on Friday and pick what you want. Most sites are on the water.

Hobie demos and tent will most likely be near the boat ramp or picnic area #3. We WILL have a REVO16 AVAILABLE. More on this later... :smt003
