Alright, something to get me in the Christmas mood, time to raid the decorations  :smt003
Remember to practice safe knots, because big fish don't just break your line, they also break your heart.

That's the spirit fisheducator.  Don't hold back.   If your family misses some decorations and looks at you with brow beating lids, don't worry.  We  have a support group to "pump you up" in your efforts to spread the holiday cheer.  This spirit and cheer is contagious.   :smt006

Ok, I'm ready if the conditions would just cooperate.  What could be better than combining fishing, Christmas, Beer and Homer.

Ho Ho Ho and a mug of beer.  Homer is in the spirit of giving.  Giving a ling cod a hook in the lip that is.  How are you going to connect the hook to Homer?
I was out at TC and had no ling takedown.  Lots of gophers, blues and blacks however.

It's tied around his arm.  Do I need to attach it directly to him?  I'm sure I can figure out a way.  If this damn weather would just let up long enough to allow some fishing!

I think if Homer wants to take a chance on loosing an arm for the  Holiday tournament, then it is good enough for me.   It almost like Homer is using a stinger.  Let him get in the water and spread good tidings.  er.  good tides.  I agree, that it has been tough finding calm water this December.  This next weekend looks like it the best time to garner the winning fish.  I anticipate a sleigh full of
pictures of holiday entrants.

Raydon, can you have a word with Santa and ask him to lower the swells/wind over the next few days? I have a couple of "Holiday Lures" that are itching to hit the salt.  :smt002

I think I solved the hook over the arm issue.   I found a way to mount a ring in his "anal vent" that will serve as the anchor point for the hook and weight.  I'll wait to post pictures until that big Ling is hooked.

If you catch a ling with a hook coming from Homer's derriere, Homer deserves special honor for taking one in the poop shooter.

We all need to sacrifice this time of year to make someone else's holiday special.  That is the spirit of the season and that is the spirit of NCKA.

If any of you guys want to let us know of any random acts of kindness you have done, please post it here.

I had two great take downs on mine today and then Bam , I actually was bringing something BIG up to the surface when it let go...big wind and swell kicked up ,and the 4 oz head began hanging up in 80-90 f.o.w...then...it snagged and was lost...argh..... :smt010

The only one I had made up too...now I have none for tomorrow...gonna have to hit a store on the way out  -bring my glue and wire-   :smt003

When I had the big fish on I was thinking...winner  winner chicken dinner... :smt005

Bummer on the missed fish.  It's nice to see you giving back and letting the fish get away.   We need a fish to finish this tournament.   Keep trying.

Submitted for your approval Mater of Ceremony Raydon...
1. Two pieces of three/eighths rebar, one painted red, the other green cut to about 3.25 inches
2. A short length of brass toilet chain
3. Used bailing wire found on the ground
4. Well worn, stretched out kids holiday "pony band" in red/green with bells
5. Possibly inadequate 2X treble, I will swap out to barbless siwash when I get my hands on some

... its not to large for big rockfish, big enough for lingzilla. All recycled sh!t
