man ,I  wish I had not clicked on this thread--I'm in..stuck in my head now..now I keep looking around the house for things to steal away to my lure tying bench

 Ok,,, it's not actually a lure.     This was a 8oz styrofoam cup before being sunk 3500 ft' depth, Monterey canyon.    Shrunk it to about 1 oz.     ROV pilot on Pt Lobos made this for me years ago.

Put a little tinsel on it, fit  with a hook and it's good.  Actually, it looks more like a Jerry Garcia lamp shade than a Holiday lure.  Unfortunately, we don't have a interior design tournament.  Maybe next year.  Now, I want to know what happened on November 20, since you have it circled?

I tied my knot in poor light ,at night with old eyes, and missed a loop /return on my knot 
When I got OTW yesterday and took my first cast with the Elf lure...the elf sailed away to find Santa.

Never even got to fish it!!!

This is not the simply fishing contest.  You can make as many of the elf with a tail lure that you want.    Those are so cool.  Could be franchise city for you.

Nice color combination Kiel.    I see that you used a barbed hook.  If you catch a salmon, you have to throw it back.  This is a version of the lure made famous by otobepelagic last year  Jingle Bait.  As I recall to effectively use this lure, you have to sing jingle bait, jingle bait, jingle all the way,  to the tune of jingle bells in your most jolly holiday voice.
