In lieu of an insurmountable eating challenge I'm proposing that we gather somewhere with good beer, somewhat edible food and a management team that doesn't mind us completely taking over the joint with our raucous behavior......till the place closes.

I'm thinking a Thursday/Friday so as to not interfere with fishing.....or whatever it is your wife has planned for you.  Another white elephant with gifts of the fishing/hunting/outdoors persuasion (anybody that brings sabikis will be treated as a xmas tree and wrapped with the offending sabiki as if it were a string of lights).

Anybody:
*Interested,
*Available early December'ish
*Have suggestions for a house of dubious reputation which caters to the likes of scalawags, heathens and hooligans.
*have ideas for a non-eating challenge to engage the masses and entertain via foolish behavior

Edit

New Date: Friday 12/19 @ Harry's Hofbrau in San Jose 6:30pm

Now that we got time and location squared away.  Who's in?

I've heard good things.....pliney on tap?  Could be an all timer.

Given our tendency to get loud, crowd out a space and stay late.....you think they can accommodate us?

If so, the question would be if there is room for a large NCKA group. I've been there when open seats were scarce. Of course, there are seats at the bar that are usually available.

In the back of the bar there are quite a few seats too

Martin you can change your name AGAIN to Ho and then there will be at least one  :smt005

Harry's has a very interesting crowd and it depends what time you go.
There can be a bus load of centenarians wheeling around their oxygen tanks and then there is your occasional Ho.....the elderly normally arrive earlier and I've seen younger crowds show up later.

I'm up for a non-eating challenge this year. Still recovering from the belly busting pizza.  :smt005 Actually that place had decent pizza and beer and they didn't kick us out. The white elephant gift exchange was crazy fun.

Another place would be Stuft Pizza in Milpitas.
Its like two blocks right off the Montague/Landess exit off of 680.
They have at least 20 beers on tap, really good pizza, calzones etc. and a shit load of flat screen TVs.

Last time I was there I asked if they had a pizza challenge because I was thinking of the Xmas party but they didn't. It's my new favorite pizza spot.

It's kind of small but they say they will accommodate up to 80 people in a party.

I think this place or Harrys would work both have decent food and beer. I believe Harrys has a full bar though.

Angle also suggested clandestine brewery in San Jose.  It'd  have to be a Friday or Saturday and more of a potluck but it looks like a sweet place.  I'll have to do some recon.

I like where this is going.  Keep spitballing the ideas and we'll firm up the details early next week.

Scott I was thinking a beer challenge, taste and ID ( not volume), would be sweet.

Or some kind of newbie hazing :)
