Drove all the way to the Forebay only to find out it was BLOWWWWWING :smt013. So, as I was driving back, Mike / Sturgy spots me as he and his buddy Brian were on their way to the Forebay - I gave them the intel so they turned around and we decided to hit Coyote Lake since it was on the way back. We got there only to find that the water level went down and it was a bit murky. We paddled out any way and fished the opposite side of the dam. Lot's of structure standing out but it was too shallow. If the water goes up again = this area would be the place to fish for big bass. I decided to troll the shoreline with my shad rapala - keeping my lure within the 5 to 10 foot depth. Caught a couple of small LMB and that was it. By noon, the sun broke out and the water skiers took over the peace and quite  :smt011 Got my feet dry as soon as the first wake hit my yak.

On my drive out of the county park, I came across some wild bore just on the side of the road AND only about 50 yards from one of the camp sites  :smt118 Seems like they are every where (we saw a few when we were driving in as well).

Since it was my first time in this lake, I'd give it a thumbs up  :smt023 if and when the water level goes up. The down side is all the motorized water crafts that frequent this place - but I'm sure the winter weather will take care of that  :smt002 The guys at Fisherman's Warehouse have some pics of a few 14 to 15 pound LMB caught and released in this particular lake. Will defintely visit this lake again.

Parking was $5.00

Mike -nice to see you again - it's been a while :smt002 Brian nice to meet you  :smt006

Ahhhh yes, Coyote!
Grew up fishing that lake a couple times each month. Some BIG bass in there!

Have yet to fish it in my kayak but really want to try it. Especially in March when you can paddle up the creek to catch spawning trout. And the big bass that eat the trout!

Thanks for the report Mooch! Makes me want to fish there again soon.
